I've been in a state of mostly not wanting to make any art for about a year now.  I've come to the conclusion that i should stop forcing myself. I'm working on getting a job, and it's been a while since i've had one, irl. ye olde joe job. So i'm figuring that focusing on that right now instead of making myself make art when i don't feel like it is a better idea. Also, i'd rather keep working on genealogy stuff. i did that for two months straight last summer, a bit in the late fall, and then again fairly continuously since the beginning of march.

but on the uppity upside, i have a crestfall necklace from my cafe press and i'm super excited about that. :la:

I'm often struck by individuals who look completely feminine, while having a layer of masculinity to them, or conversely by people who  look completely masculine, while having some feminine softness clinging to them.

This is often called androgyny, and people consider it perhaps less. Not all the way male, or not all the way female. Some halfling, some weirdo, people that get called a lesbian or a fag. (i hesite to use the last word, but i only do it here to emphasize the name calling as wrong.)

Some people i see as androgynous, as male and female at the same time, not as a halfway point, or an unsure ground, but as a duality.  They aren't neither, they are both at once.  Can a woman be masculine dressed like a 50s pinup? You bet your sweet ass she can. Can a man? Bitch, you know it.  A man can wear femininity dressed like a lumberjack. It just is. It's a confidence, that can be read on their faces. They know who they are. I dig that. I want to be like that.

my journal entry was old and crusty.  I have many things on my cafe press. i'm not sure what the cut off is for shipping by xmas, but please have a look. [link]

I am making progress on scanning my old drawings and i feel like i had some minor success today with

in that i was able to concentrate from start to finish without rushing (too much) or getting fussy and panicky.

I've added a point donation meter to my page, which i had previously been against.  I feel like it's an easier way for people to contribute to my cause of me  even if they can't afford to buy a small print.  When i am points flush i like to share them around, but as my premium expires in a few months, i thought i'd best try to close the gap in that time. I'm thinking about giving out llamas or features or little sketches as thank yous, but i'm not promising anything and i think maybe my method of gratitude will be spontaneous. :dummy:

i'd also like to pimp the newest join of group for me: :iconnerdfightersunite:
and here's a couple of things i've faved recently, have a look at this cool art by fellow deviants:

Lumpy, my misfit prototype, is starting to shape up [link]
when i am done refining him, i will be making some clones, which i will then sell. Stuffed archaeopteryx with plastic armature. not sure if i will be doing anything with the stash of pipecleaners i recently acquired. they would be good to make finger claws, but i don't want him to be scratchy.

I'm working on sorting out old drawings. Some i will remake digitally, some i will sell, and most are being turned into artist trading cards or stationery.  I am going to be selling my john lennon bust and also my lestat figurine that i made, both out of sculpey, when i was in high school.  I have lots of ATCs in the pipeline, at various stages, and i've printed out a stack of mini chapbooks of my poetry, each containing a few poems.  If you want any of the cards or chapbooks, contact me here, on twitter, or at my fb art page [link] and i will send you some, as long as you share them around :ninjaplot:

I feel like i'm emerging from my two month darkness a little bit. i drew a little picture, and i'm thinking about the commission i need to do, and the free commission i need to finish. :) i don't quite feel empty anymore. I am getting overwhelmed though because i have a lot of things to do, and i can't really do them all at once. it's hard to pace myself without having an anxiety attack. so i'm trying to remain calm and know where my towel is.

I'm sortof not into doing art right now. I've spent a little over two weeks cranking out genealogy charts.  I've been waiting about ten years to have the right resources to make digital/printable/editable versions of the charts i've got.  So i'm doing this instead of pretty much anything else. Until i feel better. I was really depressed for a few weeks and now i'm just oscillating between manic and tired. I couldn't sleep hardly at all for almost two weeks and then i got sick. So it's a bit of a recovery period. I've gone through at least half a ream of copy paper, which i think is about 6, 7? charts. not sure. :B I'll get back into the art soon, right now, just meh.  I'm waiting on my psychiatric evaluation before i really try to do too much, which isn't until october.  :hmm:

i'm remodeling my dA again. rearranging my favorites, going to prune my gallery again, too, methinks.  I'm going to be doing  a bunch of work on my skills and stuff soon, but probably won't be making much headway until after i finish some old projects from five+ years ago.  I am still going to be selling off some art things on ebay.  I will shortly be listing a set of canvasboard angel paintings, so be sure to stay tuned for that link.

I'm currently making patterns for a stuffed archaeopteryx, life sized.  I'm making two extra ones right now, and when i'm done i'm planning to sell them on etsy, unless the clamor is such that i have buyers up the ass. If i get a lot of interest, i could get more plastic eyes and fabric and make another batch. :iconraptorlaplz: Just keep in mind i'm not out of the design phase just yet, and expect it to take a couple more weeks before i have functioning patterns.
