dedicated to my dear friends.
---------------
The world is not some cookie cutter compartmentalized convenience where everything is black and white. It's not really even shades of gray as the Monkees said forty years ago.

We're living in a technicolor universe, it's a neon rainbow.

At this point you might be wondering what the hell I'm talking about. I'm talking about hate, bigotry, racism, sexism. People think we're living in the most advanced culture ever to be known on the world, but why are people being persecuted for being born? It may come as a great shock but our heathen ancestors had no problem with gays, bisexuals, intersex, atypical gender expression, and even forms of transsexualism. (What do you think castrati are?) Look to ancient Greece, look to Japan, look at the Native American record. There are many more examples of less uptight cultures.
.
We're not the only critters in the animal kingdom like this. Going back even as far as some oceanic flatworms, we see that their mating consists of a traditional cock fight, in which the loser has to be the mother of the offspring. Male seahorses are responsible for bearing the offspring. Male penguins tend to care for the young. Lionesses do the hunting in their culture. There are examples of hundreds of species that express homosexuality. Fish and even some amphibians can change sex from female to male if mates are scarce. (Remember Jurassic Park? It's not just science fiction.) And I've personally seen that domestic cats naturally form a matriarchal hierarchy.
.
A couple thousand years of humans forcing others to adhere to a very narrow box of behaviors (I'm looking at you Abrahamic religions) has left our modern society extremely sick. We know that being born gay, trans, bi, intersex, etc. is as basic as height, hair color, eye color, the shape of your limbs, your immune system, etc. It's all DNA, genes, and hormones. Everyone has them. But many people choose to be ignorant and say "THIS IS WRONG." No. It's not wrong, it's biology, it's nature. It's the way things have been going for MILLIONS of years. Johnny-come-lately (with your religious dogma) chooses to be close-minded and ignorant, chooses not to understand how it works, refuses to think or accept other humans for just that human. Why would you ever choose to be hateful and to hurt and judge other people for existing and being themselves? We don't choose to be LGBTI, but I'd much rather be gay than a bigoted close-minded, rude, mean, and hateful ignoramus.
.
Maybe that's just what it is. Some people are born stupid and unfortunately that is a disease that doesn't seem to have a cure.
